Pocono Raceway, carved out of a former asparagus farm 40 years ago, became what it says is the world’s largest solar-powered sports facility. A solar farm, located in a cleared parcel once used as a parking lot, will power the racetrack and 1,000 nearby homes. The Associated Press reported the solar farm’s costs at $16 million.
