Various States throughout the country are beginning to commit themselves to implementing green practices. Today, the State of Colorado took a very bold step by signing a piece of legislation that will require 30% of the state’s energy mix to come from renewable sources by 2020. Los Angeles Leads U.S. Boom In Energy Star Commercial Buildings

Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded the City of Los Angeles for building the most Energy Star certified buildings in 2009 of any U.S. City. Commercial buildings contribute significantly to global carbon emissions and so it is quite a meaningful step that during the past ten years of the Energy Star program, 9,000 buildings have been built to meet their standards.
